Trails Stewardship

Trail Stewardship Opportunities

We believe that users of trails have an important stewardship for the trails they use. In the Cedar Valley and Lake Mountain areas, we have some amazing trail opportunities, generously provided by private owners, Federal and State agencies, and local cities. By partnering with them in productive ways, we can expand our opportunities, preserve our trails, and improve their quality. Our vision is to help our area become a world-class destination for trail users.

Trail Maintenance

During the Spring-Fall, we do regular trail maintenance work.

We are not doing maintenance projects/work at this time. We will begin again in March or as soon as weather permits.

TRAIL WORK CALENDAR

Coming soon.

Trail Etiquette

We teach trail etiquette. We'll be hosting a trail etiquette class during Trails week, and also putting up some great trail etiquette videos. Check back for more information.

Trail Advocacy

It's important that we use our voice to support the building, maintenance, and improvement of our local trails. These trails add so much economic and quality of life opportunities for our communities and even our region. We actively work with local corporations, agencies, cities, and other groups to advocate for positive development and management of trails.

Trail Building

CURRENT PROJECTS

Current projects we are working on/with are:

1. Eagle Mountain (Mountain Ranches) Bike Park Jump Line Re-Work

We had been planning to re-work/re-do the Eagle Mountain bike park (known as the Mountain Ranches Bike Park), for some sometime. Luckily, we had a community member, Christian Pepper, put together a design, proposal, and is leading the re-build for our jump line. This is super exciting and will result in professionally built, progressive jumps for riding. We are helping where we can as a club and as opportunities come to work on this, we will let you know!

2. Eagle Mountain Training Trails

We have a new, 43 acre parcel of land that the City of Eagle Mountain is letting us build trails for the purpose of training new/inexperienced riders. This is a perfect place for young and old beginner riders to hit 3-4 one mile looped trails, practice on a pump track, and try out skills on built features for beginners. We have already begun this project. If you are interested in helping, please email info@lakemountainflyers.com, and we'll keep you informed of dig days and how you can help.

#Trailsweek—aka Trail Therapy Week

April 19 – 24

#Trailsweek is our annual trails celebration week. This is the week of Earth day (April 22), and we do a number of activities, contests, etc. to encourage more love for our trails. It culminates in a big trail trash cleanup on April 24th! See our Trail Therapy Day page about that event.

Our Stance on Trails

Trails require someone to envision them, build, and maintain them. Many of our trails were lovingly built over the years by volunteers who love to ride and build trails. We're grateful for their massive contribution of time, effort, and money. We also want to continue building trails in our area and create a place to ride that rivals any in the country. To be able to do this, we have to work with cities, counties, the State, and land managers/owners to design, build, sign, and maintain our trails.

There will be many trail building opportunities now and into the future. These will be specific, official, and sanctioned projects. We'll let you know when they are and would love to have your involvement. There will be a lot of opportunities for this in the next 5 years, as we continue to plan and design new trails throughout the area in conjunction with the city, BLM, SIT LA, and other landowners/managers.

TO BE CLEAR: We DO NOT support unsanctioned trail building. This means any building of trails that is done without specific, explicit permission from the landowner/manager.
