Unbound in the French style, and printed on handmade rag paper with Les Cent Une watermark, in a stiff card portfolio, and housed in a pinkish-grey paper covered clamshell box.

This is copy 116 of 136 copies printed for Les Cent Une, Societe de Femmes Bibliophiles, and has been signed by George Ball as well as the president and vice president of the society.

Les Cent Une was created by Princess Schakhowskoy in 1926, and publishes a previously unpublished text every two years accompanied with illustrations by a contemporary artist.

The clamshell box has some uneven sunning to the spine and extremities.

The portfolio and text are in exceptional condition, with all 11 illustrations present with their tissue guards.

Includes a laid-in invitation to a recption held by the Baroness Philippe-Amedee Reille which appears to be in celebration of the publication of the book.

A beautiful book from one of France's oldest bibliophile associations.
