School Programs

The Faison School and Peninsula School at The Faison Center offer specialized educational programs for individuals up to 22 years old with autism and related challenges. These programs, accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Specialized Education Facilities and licensed by the Virginia Department of Education, employ a comprehensive approach that includes evidence-based treatment, research, and community education. The curriculum spans from Lower School (up to age 11) through Upper School (up to age 22), with additional programs focusing on life skills and employment readiness. The schools also feature Independent Learner Communities for students capable of near-grade-level academic performance but requiring specialized educational support.
